Angels are for anytime of the year...not just Christmas you know. "Smile"

So many times, people are stumped when it comes to a die that depicts something, thinking it has to be what it is...and i've discovered by playing with this die and searching the internet for ideas, that it is just not so!  (Actually, i didn't find much out there in "Internetville".

So for this release at Dutch Paper Crafts, i am using some GOREGOUS, ADORABLE Angels.
These Angel dies are made by Marianne Craftables.

I am naming my Angel cards, but they don't have a name, just a number..this first card is the "illustration" angel, and the simplest angel to make based on just cutting it out once and sanding it.  All of the dies are this simple.  They all cut and have embossing..so a two step.

I am calling this card my Gingerbread Angel. Every Angel die also has a little die with it.  On this card i did not use the small die.  The small die is a star.   The number is #CR1231
The die was cut out of Coredinations paper, it is white washed on the front and kraft colored behind.  I sanded the embossing to get the highlights.  I colored the cheeks with copics.

To make this card an Angel ornament gift, i hole punched the brown matted paper.  How i found out where to punch?  I set the angel on the matted paper where i wanted it to be then i lifted up the arms and put a pencil dot right where her "arm pits" would be.  Then i strung ribbon through the holes and placed the ribbon under her arms and lightly knotted the ribbon to hold her in place.  Well, i knew that once she was off of the card she'd have no ribbon accents, so i glue dotted a bow above the knotted ribbon.
For the inside of the card, i just embossed the bottom part of the angel..it didn't cut through and gave a really nice look.

Tip: Save those tiny stars cut out from the dress!  I used them on the front of the card in the corners and i also decorated another angel's dress with them.

Here is what the angel's look like when they are connected in the back:

I made another card using this die, but it what i am calling my Birthday Angel, she is holding several of the little star die that comes with this angel die.

One other thing that i did was, because i cut out the angel with pattern paper that meant her face had a pattern on it, so i had to cut out another angel out of white and then i cut off the head/neck and colored it with my copics.  I cut around the outside of the embossed hair and face so that the "halo" of the patterned paper would show.  I also hand stitched the stars onto the embroidery thread and then tied the ends to the holes already cut out of the sleeve.  This particular paper had small bits to add to projects, so i cut out the tiny birthday hat that fit perfectly for this size angel.  Even if you don't have this paper, you can make your own hat easily by making a triangle and adding a dot/pompom to the top.  Remember i cut out another angel to get the head?  Well, i didn't want to waste the rest of the die, so i used the bottom of the dress to accent the inside of the card.  I did this for all of the cards i made w/the colored face.  Also, remember to save those tiny stars from the dress, i have used the birthday "stars" for another card.
Angel with heart CR1232, I call this one my Shabby Chic Angel:

Same Angel with heart CR1232 but in white with the stars from the "happy birthday" dress, I am calling this one White angel with wings inside.

Tip: Because i didn't have to cut out two angels for this card, i used the wings from the other left over angel bits to the inside of this card.

Last die CR1233 Angel with banner, i am calling my Christmas Angel (i added the stars to her dress those stars come from the Angel w/star above)- The banner that comes with this angel is inside of the card below.

Tip: for every head i cut out i added Liquid pearls around the base.   I also added some Extreme glitter to the halos on some of the angels.

Thanks a Ton!

I saw this really cute card on the cover of "Simply Cards and Papercrafts" from the UK and I wanted to make it using the Whale image from Digital Delights.  Well actually, i had the Whale image before i saw the magazine.

So many cute sentiments are out there now for whale images.  And in this issue of the card magazine  #111 they have 8 ideas.  Of course this whale from Digital Delights would make the cards even cuter!

See what i mean?

For this card i have used Spellbinders Fleur de Lis square die, and Memory Box splash border.

A house for all seasons

I am working with a Marianne Creatables House dies #CR1217, CR1218 and CR1219 for Dutch Paper Crafts... To start with i am using CR 1218, CR1219 and will be showing you below the house in different seasons:

The Marianne House dies are available at Dutch Paper Crafts, Don't forget to ask to see if we still have the other dies in stock at Dutch Paper Crafts!

My adventure in this crafting project started with wanting a "sea glass" look and it turning into a frosted look.

The photo is very blurred (due to that fact i should have had my glasses on)  The paint i used is from Martha Stewart, it is Frost Translucent Glass Paint.  The color is Sea Lavender..(although painted like this it looks white)

At first i thought i'd be able to put white vinyl on the outside of a rectangle vase, but after it all dried i found nothing would stick to it..i guess i could have used hot glue..but the bumps wouldn't look right in the end i thought.  So back to square one with a frosted vase.  I realized i didn't paint the inside (which i might consider another time..but i am going in this direction now seeing as i painted the outside of the vase) so i put the vinyl cling on the inside of the vase...well now you really couldn't see the vinyl house..so i wondered if i could scrap away a circle like "a window view"..and a penny worked, but it does not leave a perfect circle line..so my recommendation is to place a vinyl circle on the outside and paint over it and remove the vinyl circle when you are done painting..soooo much easier!

Once i had my window...i was pretty happy with the concept and liked the all white look..thinking it could work for any season, with decorations around the vase.  A good friend pointed out that she thought it could use more...so then i started thinking about changing out the house, but putting my hand in there to change it out wasn't going to work, soooo i decided to make different houses for each season (and a few holidays)... and set them inside of the vase as the seasons/holiday changes.

Here is what i've come up with and i will list the other dies i used to accomplish this project below each picture.

Spring view:

The dies i used to decorate this Marianne Craftables House #CR1218 are:
Wreath- leaves from Marianne Craftables CR1208 (basket)
Flower border-Memory Box Spring Border #98115
I cut the house out of Core-dinations White wash paper with a Kraft backside, and a second time using Core-dinations Brown w/a light brown core.  I hand cut out the brown details (trim/door/windows and sanded them).  The floral border was cut out 4 times (green, pink, yellow, lavendar) and the flowers we cut off and attached to the green cut out)  The leaves were cut out (3 at a time) and attached to an "O" shape to make the wreath. The flower box is a part of the die below the first floor window from the brown house cut out...i just cut/sanded it to make it fit under the second floor window.  **I will be repeating the window box and trim for all of the seasonal houses i make.

Summer House:

The dies i used to make the summer house are:
Memory Box- Spring border #98115
Memory Box- Big Splash border #98438
Instructions same as the Spring House except i made a buoy "wreath" for the front door..using  embroidery thread (not floss) and i cut out red strips and glued them around the wrapped thread.

Fall View:

Dies used:
Memory Box- (tree and leaves) Flowering Winterberry #98391
Memory Box- resting birds #98527
I hand cut the pumpkins using Tim Holtz core-dination paper and sanded it..used the leaves for the top.

Winter View:

Other dies used:
Memory Box- Frostyville Border #98146
Silver "snowflake" wreath- Memory Box - Cherry Blossom (used center of flower) #98316

I have added a new house die for this vase project an in order to do that i had to take the vinyl
sticker/die cut out of the vase because the shape wasn't the same. No problem, the vinyl sticker sticks to paper and so i just cut out another house die to adhere it to.

Now for the other Marianne House die i used #CR1219 (Thatched Roof house), i turned this one into a Shabby Chic Gingerbread house:

I used one other die on this house from Cheery Lynn dies called Queen Anne's Lace Border - B160

I have one more house to share with you and that is CR1217, i made a Halloween Luminary:
I made the opening using a Lifestyle crafts die called, Frame 8. i saved the cut out shape from the opening and used it to cut out and sanded the house.  In order to get the house to "stay" in the opening i place Russian Hair Netting inside the bag, i secured it by cutting out white cardstock to fit inside and cut out the opening again, this secured the netting by sandwiching it between the cardstock and the bag.  Next i cut out another house in white and placed that behind the black house to secure it on the netting.

The Marianne House dies are available at Dutch Paper Crafts, Don't forget to ask to see if we still have the other dies in stock at Dutch Paper Crafts!

Hope your recovery is super fast!

This month the team is using images from Digital Delights that were a bit lonesome and wanted some attention..like this adorable crab digital image...

My opinion..he could be hard to color..usually any image all one color is harder to color..when adding shading to it..well for me it is.  (smile)  However, i think it would be neat paper pieced..should've could've.

So again, i am thinking of my dad, he will be going for his second surgery on July 24th...he has recovered nicely from his double by pass..but as any one could know a second surgery puts a lot of stress on anyone and especially one that is 82 like my dad...any and all prayers for his upcoming surgery will be greatly appreciated.   The sentiment is from the "Feel Good" Digital Delights sentiment collection.
Once this crab is cut out, he is able to hold any sign in his claws..i also used kraft paper and tore it for the sand..i added some wrapping twine for accent.

Copics used:
crab- R81, 83, 85, 37
shoes/socks- YR07, BG5, 49, YG03, 67

A sprinkle of Fairy-ness

I saw a card on Pinterest and i couldn't find the instructions and thought, maybe i could figure this "fancy fold" out..and then to add a twist i used the new Envelope Punch to make the card base.  I am in the process of making a Youtube "how to" video too. :)

This image is called "Fairy Happy Day" and is gorgeous, and it available at the Tiddly Ink store here.
I have made a gatefold window card.
The dies to make this card are Anastasia border from Cheery Lynn, Decorative Oval Multi frame from Nellie Snellen, and the Nesting Square Doilies Die from Lifestyle crafts.

Don't forget to ask to see if we still have the above dies in stock at Dutch Paper Crafts
